Qualification Process for IIHS Top Safety Picks

Kia models need to meet a few set qualifications in order to be named IIHS Top Safety Picks. Specifically, vehicles need to receive “Good” ratings in driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, roof strength, side, and head restraint tests. “Acceptable” or “Good” headlights are also required as well. The final qualification that vehicles must meet is “Advanced” or “Superior” ratings for available front crash prevention evaluations. These evaluations include both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations.
