The base engine available on the 2020 Kia Soul is a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. This 147-horsepower engine is able to generate up to 132 pound-feet of torque. The 2.0L engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission (standard on the LX trim) or with the Intelligent Variable Transmission (standard on S, GT-Line, X-Line, and EX trims and optional on the LX trim).

With the 6-speed manual transmission, the 2.0L engine is able to achieve fuel economy ratings of 25 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. The fuel economy ratings slightly increase to 27 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway with the Intelligent Variable Transmission.

2020 Kia Soul 1.6L Turbo 4-Cylinder Engine

The secondary engine available on the 2020 Kia Soul is a 1.6L turbo 4-cylinder engine. This turbo engine can generate 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The 1.6L turbo engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This powertrain system allows the 2020 Kia Soul to achieve fuel economy ratings of 27 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway. You will notice that this is only slightly lower fuel economy than the 2020 Kia Soul’s base engine. The 1.6L turbo engine is only available on the GT-Line Turbo trim level of the 2020 Kia Soul.
