What’s new with the 2023 Kia Sportage?

The latest redesign is the fifth generation of Kia’s oldest nameplate and brings a lot of visual and performance enhancements. The first thing you’ll notice is the updated design which features Kia’s new “Opposites United” design philosophy, featuring a bigger, bolder, and more upscale exterior design than the outgoing generation. The 2023 Sportage is also wider and longer since it shares the same N3 platform as the Kia Sorento. Apart from the visual overhaul, the 2023 Sportage brings best-in-class rear legroom and rear cargo space and a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.

Meanwhile, Kia will also be launching fuel-efficient turbocharged hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Sportage variants later in the year. Pricing and specs of these models will be shared nearing their launch dates.
